I really am Your local television “TV” engineer with almost 40 years hands on experience working on many makes of television.
I share all fault information with thousands of other television engineers around the world and I have access to massive databases and specialist component suppliers, to maximise the chances of a successful repair. We also offer a Three month minimum warranty on all repair work. All work is carried out to exacting safety standards (BS 415).
I can repair most makes of television and can provide “in home service” or collection & delivery as required.
In the Cambridge area. I carry out all my own repairs with no third party intervention.
Question: “is my television worth repair?” I often get asked this question so here is my answer.
Yes in most cases. Most quality brands can be repaired provided we can get access to spares.
I always use my own judgement on when not to repair an item as I am conscious that i am spending your hard earned money.
If I can repair the item for less than 40% of the cost of a replacement then I usually go ahead. I fault find down to component level on most products so this can often be achieved. Some times I can carry out repair work in your home, typically the cost is less than £65.00. If I don't repair, there is a small charge for the call out. That has to be better than dumping the product into landfill. Our minimum charge for repair work in home is £45.00. This covers the initial call out and up to one hour of our time on your premises. If I have to collect an item I take £45.00 as a deposit which covers the cost of collection & delivery and any diagnostic time, I can then provide an estimate of the repair cost. All items are returned to customers even if no repair is carried out.. Terms & conditions apply.
“Think you can repair your own television”?. Modern TV, requires the use of several thousand pounds worth of specialist test & diagnostic equipment, along with the knowledge & experience gained from years of doing the job. I do not encourage self repair as there can be many safety issues involved with dismantling and working on your own TV. High voltage is present during operation and when switched off.
I am unable to give any technical advice on self repair, information or spares to anyone other than registered engineers who are full members of Euras International. Manufacturers Service Information and fault data are confidential to the trade.
